Tartar in dogs

Studies show that four out of five dogs over the age of three experience dental problems.

Plaque is formed by food residue on the teeth and bacteria, among other things. Plaque is best removed regularly. If it isn't removed, plaque and minerals from saliva will eventually form tartar. Tartar is usually the only solution to treat it, a trip to the veterinarian.

Chewing on chews can reduce plaque buildup on dogs' teeth – the increased saliva flow also supports the cleaning process. I use natural products for my dog. Among other things, I give rabbit ears with fur or 100% dried muscle meat.

However, I find the most effective way to brush your dog's teeth, just like we do with humans. Ideally, daily.

My dog Milou wasn't particularly keen on brushing his teeth at first, but now he knows that afterward he cuddles or plays.

Wondering how I brush my dog's teeth? With an ultrasonic toothbrush. And a special toothpaste for this ultrasonic toothbrush.

In the following gallery you can see, among others, the mira-pet and the emmi-pet. In addition to the attachment for brushing teeth, the emmi-pet also offers a skin care attachment for coat and skin care (e.g. for treating calluses).

Which ultrasonic toothbrush would I recommend? It depends on several factors. I'd be happy to help you choose.
